Media Arts painting and sculpture lecturer Tim Croucher (left) has received a Merit award in the 2010 New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Award. Tim was one of four artists selected for a Merit, along with Philippa Bentley (Auckland), Nell Nutsford (Hamilton) and Joan Travaglia (Hamilton)

The overall winner of the New Zealand Painting and Printmaking award was Esther Leigh from Auckland for her work ‘Idle Fleet 2′.

Media Arts graduate Adrienne Grant was a finalist in the awards also, with two works selected. 247 entries were received from artists around the country, and the top 51 finalist works, including Tim and Adrienne’s, are being exhibited during the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival.
